Stephanie Marina Bermudez – Dance Biography

Stephanie Bermudez is a dynamic performer and artist from Tampa, Florida, now based in Jacksonville. With a lifelong passion for the arts — from acting and singing to modeling and dance — Stephanie has dedicated her life to captivating audiences and expressing herself through movement and performance.

Stephanie began exploring movement at a young age, finding joy and freedom in dance before it became her professional pursuit. Stephanie’s dance journey began at All American Dance Factory & Classical Ballet School, where she trained in multiple styles, honing both her technical precision and expressive artistry. She formalized her training by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Jacksonville University, where she refined her technique, studied choreography, and immersed herself in a variety of styles including ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary. Her education also emphasized performance theory and pedagogy, giving her a well-rounded understanding of dance as both an art form and a tool for connection. Throughout her time at Jacksonville University, Stephanie has had the honor of working with esteemed choreographers such as Jennifer Archibald, Duncan Cooper, Paula Nunez, Norbert De La Cruz III, Lana Heylock, Yidi Lin, the Nicholson Twins, Amy Miller, Jon Leher, and many more. Beyond the classroom, Stephanie was a four-year member of Jacksonville University’s dance team, lighting up the basketball court with high-energy jazz, pom and hip-hop performances. Her team proudly competed at the National Dance Alliance (NDA) during her freshman and junior years, showcasing their talent on a national stage.

Since completing her degree, Stephanie has committed herself to building a multifaceted dance career. She has performed in concert dance works, collaborated with fellow artists across disciplines, and choreographed original pieces that reflect her voice as a creator. In addition to performing, Stephanie is a passionate educator and who shares her love for dance with students, helping to foster the next generation of artists. She is currently expanding her artistic resume to include work in singing, modeling, acting and aerial work, with the goal of creating a long, sustainable career in the entertainment industry. Post-graduation, she joined Emily Cargill & Dancers, a contemporary dance company based in Jacksonville, Florida performing at dance festivals across the country. Outside of the concert world, Stephanie has ventured out to the commercial side of dance and has worked with Scarlett Entertainment, Chris Ackerman, and Marcus Borders in cities throughout Florida. She worked on a project with Creative Purpose Productions for their music videos, 555 and Reflections and live performance of Ntimucy. She recently just finished up a training program in LA where she trained at well renowned studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, Playground LA, TMilly Studios, Movement Lifestyle, The Stu, and Mihran K. Studios. Through her program she shot at Universal City Walk after hours for a Dubai Chocolate Promo Video.

Stephanie’s artistic style as a dancer blends fluidity with precision, rooted in a strong technical foundation across ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. She gravitates toward floor work and expansive, flowing lines that emphasize grace and control, while also finding inspiration in the sharp, intricate textures of movement that challenge both her body and musicality. This duality—between softness and attack, and between classical form and contemporary edge—defines how she moves and expresses herself, creating a dynamic and emotionally resonant experience in each performance.

“You’re my example that hard work and commitment pays off for the younger dancers” is a quote that Stephanie’s former studio director said to her. This quote has stuck with Stephanie ever since and has been a testament to Stephanie’s relentless work ethic and deep love for the arts which are driving forces behind her success. Whether she's choreographing a piece, performing on stage, or inspiring others through teaching, she is known for her discipline, creativity, and genuine passion for what she does. Stephanie is always finding new ways to push herself and learn through classes, workshops, and mentorship programs such as The Business of Dance mentorship program with Menina Fortunato.
